The Government of Kenya (GoK), through the State Department for Fisheries, Aquaculture and
the Blue Economy (SDFA&BE) and with support from the World Bank, KEMFSED project,
which aims at supporting the country in its efforts to leverage emerging opportunities in the Blue
Economy. The project is being implemented in five (5) participating counties that are riparian to
the Indian Ocean along the Kenyan Coast with a goal to improve management of priority fisheries
and mariculture and increase accessto complementary livelihood activities. As part of the project’s
development objective, a demand driven internship program is being implemented by the project
under the Coastal Community Empowerment and Livelihoods Component. The aim is to
strengthen longer-term capacity of the communities.
The county government of Kwale is one of the participating counties in the implementation of the
KEMFSED project through the County Project Implementation Unit (CPIU) under the department
of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries
The CPIU through the KEMFSED Scholarship Committee wishes to recruit competent and
